Outreach

Over 150 youth impacted annually with direct services offered to youth enrolled in the organization’s Ben’s Kids Outreach Program, Parent Project, and Global Youth Service Activities - where additional support and resources are extended to their families through case management, referrals and parenting education/support groups.

Ben's Kids

IEA’s outreach program provides at-risk youth with rehabilitative tools needed to navigate themselves successfully away from the criminal justice system. The youth meet regularly for sessions which cover personal responsibility, improving self-esteem, communication skills, defining and changing destructive behavior, making wise choices, and building and maintaining healthy relationships. Ben’s Kids is also a venue for the youth to participate in recreational activities.

Cops and Kids

“Unfortunately, far too many children are involved with police only when things go terribly wrong in the world around them…their parents are in trouble, their friends are in trouble, or they are in trouble. I’m so proud of our Cops & Kids programs because they give children a chance to see cops at work in friendly and unthreatening environments. We want children to know that a police officer is their friend and protector.”
-Beaumont Police Chief James Singletary

Global Youth Services

The IEA Global Youth Service initiative provides IEA youth an opportunity to become more civically engaged and actively involved with addressing social issues that are of concern to them. GYSD is one our largest community service efforts of the year, along with other partners in the community such as the Jefferson County Juvenile Probation department, youth are involved in service-learning projects that benefit their own community. This youth-driven initiative recognizes the value and ability of young people to achieve dignity and respect through knowledge, compassion, and service.

Circle of Hope

IEA’s Circle of Hope is a bi-monthly empowerment group for youths who are in the IEA program. Often, it can be difficult for youth to deal with problems and even more difficult for them to talk with someone about their problems. Circle Of Hope is the place where youth can feel comfortable to express themselves in a confidential, safe and trust- based environment.  Group topics range from learning new coping skills to dealing with anger issues. Today’s youth today deal with an array of issues old and new. Group is one of the best ways to help youth feel inclusive heard.  We also utilize expert guest speakers to present information to help youth benefit from services provided in the community. Our goal is to inspire and encourage all youth to achieve their dreams of success!
